Answered Questions
Will you let them
get away with this forever? Will they succeed forever in their heartless
conquests? (Habakkuk 1:17 NLT)
[OH, I know, I have been rash to talk out plainly this way to God!] I will [in my thinking] stand upon my post of observation and station myself on the tower or fortress, and will watch to see what He will say within me and what answer I will make [as His mouthpiece] to the perplexities of my complaint against Him. And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by. (Habakkuk 2:1, 2 AMP)
As we sometimes seek God for clarity in the midst of calamity and scream for justice, our best plan of action may be to climb up & be still. Habakkuk 2:1 speaks to how we should wait to hear from the Lord. Climbing up doesn't involve choosing a holier than thou stance, but a place of "rest" in the Lord. We are to stand on the post of the Lord and be silent while we listen for what He has to say to us.
The post the place that is also a time of observation; a time for observing the past steps you've taken, observing more closely what's going on around you and stationing ourselves on a fortress of Christ the solid rock. We must then watch and see what He will say to us.
In this time of observation while leaning on the fortress of the solid rock is when true vision for greater is born. In this time God tells us to write the vision and make it plain. Plain so that people will see and quickly discern and help you run with it. A vision easily perceived allows for assistance to achieve.
We don't have to do it alone. God tells us to write the vision so that the runners can help us. When the ultimate goal is to make things better and its clear God will send people to help you fulfill it to glorify His name.
Habakkuk 2:3 (NLT) tells us slowly, steadily and surely these things will come to pass. Slowly = it will take time, steadily = it will take commitment and surely = it will take faith! Nothing truly sustainable springs up overnight. So our time and commitment to the vision are necessary. Hebrews 11:6 says without faith it is impossible to please God. How else would we be able to focus our time and commit to what we have been shown without faith? Not faith in our own strength or ability, but faith in knowing that if God showed it to me He will provide and guide.
In the natural we ask a question and expect a quick answer and result. At our core we are spiritual beings, so we must understand that when we ask God questions, we must also be willing to go through process to get to the finished answer. Can God do anything in a split second? YES, however….. Least we get too above ourselves and start depending on the quick and easy, He would rather get a 2 for 1. God does this by not only completing the vision through us, but also completing us by fully developing the FRUIT of the spirit in us.
But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge]. (Galatians 5:22, 23 AMP)
